To all friends and fellow
table tennis colleagues :
I
am writing this letter in behalf of my son, Gerardo Cruz, 23 years old who
was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Kidney Disease and will require Hemo
Dialysis 3 times a week as soon as possible and later on a kidney transplant.
He just underwent an operation to prepare him for dialysis scheduled for next
week.
Everything
came as a surprise to us. Just to give you a brief description of Gerry as his
friends call him, he is an energetic person who always has a smile in his face
and a can-do attitude about anything assigned to him. He has always been
available and shows a willingness to help not only within the table tennis
circle but also to others. That is why he is quite a regular figure in the U.P.
gym. During his heydays with the U.P. varsity team, he spearheaded the team in
its quest for winning the UAAP Championships during the 1997-98 season and was
also part of the bronze medal winner in the team event during the ASEAN University
Games in Bangkok in 1999. He has always been very supportive to professor and
coach Oscar Santelices’ program and its quest to retain the UAAP title this
season. He is also currently a Physical Education instructor and head coach of
the U.P. High School Table Tennis varsity team.
I know it
is difficult for me to be doing this especially when it came at a time that we
are in financial crisis. But I know that God is so good and that there are
people who are generous enough to understand our situation and who are most
willing to support our cause.
Please
course your donations or send a check payable to “Gerardo D. Cruz” at this address: 59 P. Paterno St., Parang, Marikina City, Philipppines; Tel No.
(00632)- 941-3333 or to Mr Taiho Santelices, at 6030 Duckeys Run Rd., Elkridge, MD 21075.
NGAYON PA LAMANG AY LUBOS NA PO
AKONG NAGPAPASALAMAT SA PAGKAKATAONG ITO AT SANAY MATULUGAN NINYO AKO SA AKING
SULIRANIN. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
Respectfully
yours,
CARLITO
CRUZ
